Irla Belli

Irla Belli is a PhD candidate studying Computational Biology in the Pathobiology and Mechanisms of Disease program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her research focuses on using machine learning to understand how mitochondrial pathways recalibrate across brain cell types in Alzheimer’s disease. Prior to her PhD, Irla earned her Bachelor’s degree in History and Science from Harvard College then worked as a technician at Columbia for three years conducting neuroscience research. Outside of her work, Irla enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, running, baking/cooking, and hosting a monthly book club!
