Zina Osipova is a PhD candidate in History at Columbia University with a unique background in History and Biology. She studies how states and businesses adopted new fertilizer technologies amid geopolitical tensions between the two World Wars. Zina has participated in case competitions and led a pro-bono consulting project, and she is excited to bring her leadership and consulting experience to serve the CGCC community. Outside work, she enjoys improv theater, fencing, and traveling (45 countries and 33 US states).
 

Sihui (Sophia) Zheng is a second-year graduate student at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, pursuing a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in International Finance and Economic Policy and a specialization in Leadership, Innovation, and Design. Through several consulting and strategy-focused roles, she has developed expertise in market entry, product launches, and growth strategy across the consumer, retail, and payment systems sectors. Sophia also follows entrepreneurship and venture capital trends, which broaden her perspective on market dynamics. She hopes to apply her analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills to make meaningful contributions to the consulting field and to CGCC. Outside of academics, Sophia enjoys hiking, cooking Chinese cuisine, watching movies, listening to rock music, and spending time with cats. Her favorite band is Pink Floyd, and her favorite season is autumn, when she loves taking long walks accompanied by post-rock music.

Sherry Wang is a Master’s student in Business Analytics at Columbia University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Film. Her experience spans economic consulting, and management consulting, venture capital. She is passionate about bringing more engaging consulting programs and networking opportunities for Master’s and PhD students at Columbia. Beyond academics and work, Sherry enjoys playing volleyball, indie filmmaking, and exploring NYC’s bar scene. She also has a lovely border collie named Dumbo - after the Brooklyn bridge near where he was born.

Phoebe Chen is a Master’s student in Management Science and Engineering at Columbia University, jointly affiliated with Columbia Business School and the School of Engineering. Her professional background spans media, data analytics, and strategy consulting—she’s worked at Bloomberg, Louis Vuitton, and most recently completed a TMT-focused consulting internship at Altman Solon. Phoebe is especially passionate about helping consumer and tech companies grow through insights-driven strategy and operational improvements. In her free time, Phoebe likes to read, watch broadway shows, and explore good matcha in the city!

Patrick is currently pursuing his PhD in mechanical engineering, researching the combustion of promising green fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia. He previously earned an MS in mechanical engineering from Columbia, and a BASc from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. In addition to his role at CGCC, Patrick serves as the student advocacy chair for the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Association (MEGA), functioning as a liaison between faculty and graduate students. In his spare time, Patrick can be found on the squash court, at the movies, or trying (and failing) to win pub trivia night.

Ningping (Nya) Wang is a Master’s student in Management Science and Engineering at Columbia University, with a Bachelor’s in Statistics and Computer Science. She brings management consulting experience from Accenture and has also worked in technology strategy, digital product management, and analytics across sectors including non-profit, public, risk consulting, and insurance. Nya is eager to apply her diverse, transferable skills to the business consulting world. Outside of academics and work, she enjoys playing frisbee, watching movies, and exploring new cuisines. After ten years in Montreal—where winters often dip to –25 °C—she still dreads the cold and can often be found bundled up in a hoodie even on a cool summer day.

Misbah Amjad is a Master's student in Sustainability Management, with a Bachelors in Environmental Biology. She has professional experience in boutique consulting, specializing in due diligence, hazard assessments, fluvial geomorphology, and waste management. Misbah aims to create impact by improving business efficiency while making sustainability a core driver of decision-making. In her free time, Misbah enjoys biking and playing badminton, watching cat memes and running a creative side business designing custom acrylic event boards. Misbah wants to visit 30 countries before 2030, shes currently on 12!


 

Maureen is a first-year MPH student at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health with a certificate in Health Policy and Practice. With over 10 years of experience in global health and international development, she has served as a Peace Corps Volunteer, worked for USAID's DREAMS Initiative in Zambia, supported research at Population Council, and managed executive functions and communications at Acumen, a social impact investment fund. Maureen is pursuing healthcare consulting opportunities post-graduation. When not studying or networking, she enjoys cycling and exploring art galleries.
 

Lyna Chlihi is a Master’s student in Civil Engineering at Columbia University, with a strong concentration in Real Estate Development, Construction, and Finance. She also holds a solid background in Mathematics and Physics from Sorbonne University. Lyna’s experience spans luxury real estate in Paris, construction management, and real estate finance, where she has worked on property management, financial modeling, and strategic partnerships. She is eager to bring her analytical mindset and cross-disciplinary expertise into the real estate finance and consulting world. Outside of academics and work, Lyna enjoys discovering new architecture and traveling. She is passionate about the arts—especially dance and theater—and is always up for a performance at the New York City Ballet or a Broadway show. Splitting her time between France and the United States, she thrives in international environments and loves connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.

Joe Lee is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering, where his research focuses on developing predictive models to reduce nitrogen emissions in alternative combustion engines. At Columbia, he has served as President of the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Association (MEGA) and as a representative on the Engineering Graduate Student Council (EGSC). He’s excited to apply his experience in leadership, project management, and external stakeholder engagement as he pursues a career in management consulting. Joe earned his Bachelor's from UConn (Go Huskies!) and you'll see his school spirit come out for March Madness. You might catch Joe at a local museum or on a CitiBike on his way to try a new, affordable omakase spot.

Jihyun Park is a Master's student in Biotechnology at Columbia University. With a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences and Statistics, she is passionate about bridging science, data, and business. She brings experience in coordinating cross-functional projects and building practical, quantitative tools that improve operational efficiency and business decision-making in the pharmaceutical/healthcare sector. She’s excited to apply these interdisciplinary problem-solving skills in consulting. Fun/Sad fact: she loved to post electric guitar covers online but couldn't bring the guitar with her to New York. But if a rock band is coming to New York, she'll be there!

Irla Belli is a PhD candidate studying Computational Biology in the Pathobiology and Mechanisms of Disease program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her research focuses on using machine learning to understand how mitochondrial pathways recalibrate across brain cell types in Alzheimer’s disease. Prior to her PhD, Irla earned her Bachelor’s degree in History and Science from Harvard College then worked as a technician at Columbia for three years conducting neuroscience research. Outside of her work, Irla enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, running, baking/cooking, and hosting a monthly book club!
 

Gabe Stoddard is an MPA candidate at the School of International and Public Affairs specializing in Finance and Economic Policy. He earned his bachelor’s in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and has worked across the public sector in city government, higher education, and non-profits–most recently supporting the Fulbright Program at the Institute of International Education. Outside of academics and work, you’ll find Gabe improving his fluency in Portuguese and Spanish, playing soccer, and writing comedy and satire, with pieces published in The Onion.

Xu (Coco) Han is a Master of Public Health student in Health Policy and Management at Columbia University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She has experience in consulting, project management, and entrepreneurship, and currently runs her own UK-based tableware brand. After spending the past five years in the UK, Coco discovered that she loves New York much more. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys playing the piano, exploring Broadway musicals, and watching crime shows. One memorable experience was volunteering at a music festival in London, where Jay Park and Red Velvet performed. She got the chance backstage to shake hands and say hi.

Andy is a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University, focused on applying machine learning to biomedical problems. He previously conducted large-scale biomedical data analysis at Seoul National University Hospital, contributing to multiple publications and conference presentations. Now, he aims to translate rigorous scientific problem-solving into practical impact through consulting. Fun fact: Andy applies the same level of technical precision to his music. As a dedicated John Mayer enthusiast, he has mastered some of the artist’s more complex compositions on his own black Fender Stratocaster.

Anahita Puthanpura is a Master’s Student in Business Analytics at Columbia University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. She has two years of work experience in the Oil & Gas industry at Worley, where she led vendor negotiations and stakeholder management on €1.2B scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel projects. Anahita has also worked in supply chain optimization and digital marketing. She is passionate about AI Strategy, Go-To-Market execution and consulting, and is eager to help organizations achieve their AI goals sustainably. Outside of academics and work, Anahita is creative at heart, she loves to paint, daydream and explore her newest passion: cooking. You'll often find her scrolling through recipes and experimenting in the kitchen.
 

Aaveg Mishra is a Master's student in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. He received his Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University. His background has been in research and development, data analytics, along with experience in consulting competitions, all skills which he hopes to transfer to an industry role in the future. In his personal time, Aaveg enjoys running, watching sports, and losing in fantasy football.
